"My stay at Huckleberry Inn was lovely. The house is fully equipped and the rooms are comfortable. Our hostess was accommodating and lovely to be with. Lovely!"

"I enjoyed the hospitality of the host. The venue definitely needs an upgrade what the kitchen, lounge and wooden floor is concerned. Sounds a bit spooky at night and not sure what is running around in the still of the night, sounded like mice or rats.Establishment Response:Good day, This is an old, almost heritage house that I rent, so there is only so much I am able to do to it, and the owner does not want to do any upgrades at the moment. Also there is an old Oak tree that brushes against the house, and my little dogs run along the wooden floor which might make neurotic people think of a rat, but this is the charm of the wooden floors which many others just love them and the sash windows etc. I cannot please everyone and people must read up properly when they enquire about a place and ask questions then they will be informed as exactly what they can expect. The wind was howling on Saturday so there were lots of noises everywhere.I just wish people would chat to me about their questions and not just put things on that can be misconstrued and have a negative effect on my future business."
"Not again"

"We will not come back, rooms were clean but only one bathroom for 4 rooms, lots of rules, many messages from the landlady before arriving and when there not very useful informarion: the spa was closed and all the restaurants around were also closed. And it was the most expensive of the backpakers we have been staying during our trip in South Africa. So i would not recomend it, neither the city of Caledon."

"Thank you for a wonderful stay at your warm and welcoming home. We had a great time exploring the area. Your built in half price offer at the Caledon Spa was a lovely gesture - Thanks for your kindness. We especially enjoyed greeting the early morning passers - by. We wish you and Huckleberry Inn all the best. Ebrahim and Sumayah AbrahamsRetreat, Cape Town"

"The stay was satisfactory but also a disappointment. The rooms were the only comfortable part of the stay. Besides that I wasn't aware of the fact that the inn had a communal kitchen and bathroom. I was disappointed that it wasn't clearly stated even though i understand it is a back packer. The room "door-locking" was irritating because it was old-fashioned. The "braai place" is a braai stand kept amidst the long uncut, weeds in the backyard. The dogs were a small issue. The owner was semi-friendly.Most of the reason for being able to withstand this situation is having your family with you to help enjoy the stay. I wouldn't go back to this place though."
"Two night stay"

"The single room was quite adequate and the bathroom clean , however the bed was unmade and the room not cleaned on my return the second day . The room was next to the owners lounge so the television was very loud and there was a window in the dividing wall where the light came through into the room which was also rather annoying .I do not think that I would recommend the Inn ."
