Only accessible by rowing boat, provided by the establishment, the cottage is a perfect escape back to a previous century. Our manager will show you the ropes and how to row, so learning to row for those who've never done so before is all part of the fun of this adventure holiday.

The self-catering cottage sleeps a maximum of six adult guests in three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed while the other two bedrooms each have two single beds. There are two bathrooms.

Two additional children can be accommodated on the floor in the open area upstairs by prior arrangement - this option is not available for adults. The lounge couch cushions are able to convert into sleeping accommodation for the kids, bearing in mind that they are then no longer available for use in the lounge.

A generator provides electricity for light at night and for the usage of laptops, cell phone chargers and so on. Petrol for the generator is to be supplied by visitors. The generator uses approximately one litre per hour.

We recommend that visitors also bring head torches as these are incredibly convenient for use when the generator is not running, such as when you need to get up in the middle of the night to visit the bathroom.

We are situated close to the N2 so expect some traffic noise, especially over peak season. The best months to visit are November and February for the good weather and minimal traffic noise, followed by December and January.

Please wear shoes after dark; we are close to the mountain and close to nature. The hot water, fridge and stove run on gas. There is a braai area available to guests and a braai grid and tongs are supplied. A rowing boat is supplied as the cottage is only accessible by boat.

Parking is on the dirt road adjacent to the N2, on the other side of the river, in full view of the cottage. We are pet friendly by prior arrangement. We have a manager on site to assist with anything. Please enquire about our terms and conditions regarding what to bring and what we do not allow or supply.

We supply clean sheets, duvets (without covers) and pillows (without pillow cases) on the beds. Guests need to bring pillow cases and duvet covers. The cottage has 4x single duvets and 1x queen size divet. During winter it can get very cold and we would suggest guests also bring additional sleeping bags for warmth.
