The cottages are situated in the quaint, 19th century Victorian village of McGregor, in the beautiful Valley of Wine and Roses. We are perfect for a quick breakaway being less than two hours' drive from Cape Town off the N1 and 15 minutes from Robertson. The cottages are also a short stroll from the shops and restaurants.
Our charming fully equipped, self-catering cottages are set in beautiful gardens with mountain views. The cottages are both traditional-thatch cottages sharing a large and lovely, well-treed garden on the outskirts of the village, bordering apricot orchards.
Each cottage is simply perfect for two. Children may be accommodated on sturdy Oztent camp beds with sleeping bags at no extra charge. They are fully equipped with luxurious queen-size beds and overhead fans. The lounges feature leather couches and fireplaces, plus CD and DVD players and TVs with local channels and TBN via satellite - please bring your smart card for DStv. Also be aware that if you have the DSD 1110 decoder or a later version, your smart card is only valid for use in your home decoder.
The pretty, country-style kitchenettes are complete with small fridges, double hobs, microwave ovens, toasters and kettles. The stoeps have rustic picnic tables and braais, overlooking the gardens. We are child and pet friendly by arrangement.
McGregor is just off Route 62 in the Western Cape on a 'road to nowhere'. McGregor is less than two hours from Cape Town and 15 minutes from Robertson along a tarred road which meanders past farms, orchards and vineyards, and is home to several local wine farms, Rhebokskraal Olive Estate, Temenos Retreat and a Donkey Sanctuary.
Wine tasting, birdwatching, walking, hiking, cycling and scenic drives are popular pastimes in McGregor - you can even learn how to build your own cob house. But if peace, tranquillity and a sense of timelessness are what you are looking for, McGregor's the place for you.
